DAF Achievements:
We feel honored and blessed to be able to carry the torch and stand on the shoulders of our Elders, some now ancestors, some still sharing the stage with us such as Ambassador Dudley Thompson who has agreed to be one of DAF's ambassadors.
1) The Ghana Government has granted us Diplomatic Status as a Diplomatic Mission.
2) Head of Mission has been granted a Diplomatic passport from ECOWAS Abuja Office.
3) A Land grant has been provided at the W.E. Dubois Center to erect the first Diaspora Center in Africa.
4) The DAF Headquarters building has been completed on the land through the efforts of Africans at home and abroad.
5) DAF was an Invited Speaker by the Brazilian Government at the Conference for Intellectuals in Brazil on the issue of the role the Diaspora can play in the development of Africa.
6) DAF spoke at the Davos Conference in Cape Town on the role the Diasporas can play in the development of Africa and the re-branding of Africa.
7) DAF produced a Pilot TV show entitled “Diaspora Speaks" which highlighted the role and relationship of Africans abroad to those at home which was aired on local and cable television stations abroad.
8) DAF was an integral part of the Africa International Media Summit on the topic of re-branding of Africa which received wide spread media coverage in Africa, China, USA, India and beyond.
9) DAF Implemented a visit of African youth from Washington DC to visit Ghana and Benin for cultural exchange and to eradicate barriers between African born and Diaspora born youth.
10) Established presence in Ethiopia through a liaison office between DAF and AU offices.
DAF Headquarters will be an official welcome center for Ghana@50 in Accra.
