On Wednesday 14th October, 2020 His Excellency Festus Olorunfemi, the Special Envoy for Republic of Vanuatu in Africa, together with his special advisor, Mr. Farouk Al-Wahab, and other representatives paid an official visit to H.E Dr. Ambassador Erieka Bennett at the Diaspora African Forum (DAF).

The Diaspora African Form (DAF) remains the first and only African Diaspora organization in the world with diplomatic status enabling DAF to accomplish groundbreaking work in Diaspora advocacy at the highest levels of government in Ghana and around the world.

The purpose of the official visit was to introduce the Special Envoy and to engage the Diaspora African Forum in an initiative to connect with, and bridge the gap between our brothers and sisters who are of direct African descent and reside in the South Pacific islands, including but not limited to Vanuatu, Fiji, West Papua, Samoa, Papua New Guinea, amongst others.
H.E Dr. Ambassador Erieka Bennett welcomed the Special Envoy for Africa and applauded His Excellency Festus Olorunfemi for his commitment and pledged to support his efforts in this laudable initiative.

Ambassador Erieka mentioned that this initiative ties in directly with Ghana’s “Year of Return” and “Beyond the Return” initiatives.
The Diaspora African Forum (DAF) looks forward to welcoming and engaging His Excellency Festus Olorunfemi and the Special Envoy in fruitful collaborations that will contribute to accomplishing this initiative.
