The Diaspora African Forum on 20th March, 2019, held a press conference on the African Union Commission’s involvement in the ongoing  “Year of Return” declared by H. E. Nana Akufo Addo in September, 2018. Ambassador Kwesi Quartey, Deputy Chair of the African Union Commission deemed the “Year of Return” a meritorious initiative. He called on other African countries to emulate Ghana’s lead on the “Right of Return”.

Ambassador Erieka Bennett, Founder and Head of Diaspora African Forum (DAF), stated that the DAF Mission is poised to adhere to its founding principles of encouraging and embracing African Diasporas to channel their skills, talents and resources to Africa to magnify the social and economic growth of the continent. This, she believed was greatly aligned with the mandate of the Year of Return.

Some key people present were: Mr. Akwasi Agyeman – C.E.O Ghana Tourism Authority, Ms. Annabelle McKenzie – Manager, Year of Return Secretariat and Ms. Nadia Musah – Dep. Director of Diaspora Affairs, Office of the President.
