Iconic Actor Louis Gossett Jr’s Visit to DAF.

01/12/2018: Accra-Ghana: The Diaspora African Forum, the first and only diplomatic mission in the world dealing with African Diasporas issues, hosted a private visit of Academy Award Winning Actor, Louis Gossett Jr.

Louis Gossett Jr. is a staunch supporter and board member of Diaspora African Forum. The Ambassador of the mission, H. E. Dr. Erieka Bennett gave Mr. Gossett Jr. a tour of the mission and detailed the various activities. The unveiling of Mr. Gossett Jr’s name on the Supporter’s wall as well as his mother, grandmother and great grandmother’s names on the Sankofa Wall – a memorial wall that has the names of ancestors of African Diasporas all over the world—was indeed a pleasant surprise for Mr. Gossett. He shared with the media, some fond memories of his ancestors.

The gathering was well attended. The Minister of Tourism and Creative Arts Hon. Catherine Afeku was present to give Mr. Gossett a warm welcome. Also present was Chief Crystal and his Staff, famous Ghanaian actors such as David Dontoh, Adjetey Anang and many others.  Accra based Crystal TV filmed the entire event and had an extensive interview with Mr. Gossett, which will be aired on Crystal TV Network.

In commemoration of the “Year of Return”, the visit of Mr. Louis Gossett Jr. was indeed an iconic one. He commended the President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo and the Minister of Tourism and Creative Arts for this laudable and historic initiative.

H.E. Dr. Erieka Bennett commended Mr. Louis Gossett Jr. for all that he continues to do to elevate Black people around the world and expressed her gratitude to Mr. Gossett for the visit.
