On Sunday, 18th June, 2023 at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, Ghana, the Diaspora African Forum (DAF) held the DAF Bridge Builders Award 2023

The Bridge Builders Award is an award that recognizes, honors and appreciates key personalities and individuals who have contributed to bridging the gap between Africa and her Diaspora.

During the past decade, DAF has  awarded such iconic personalities as;  Xernona Clayton– Iconic American civil Rights Leader, H.E. Joyce Banda – Former President of Malawi, H.E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf – Former President of Liberia, Mr. Louis Gossett Jr. – American Oscar winning  Actor, The Rev Jesse Jackson – American Political Activist among others

We at the Diaspora African Forum (DAF) are proud to honor the good works of exceptional African and Diaspora leaders by giving them the recognition that they truly deserve.  This year, DAF honored seven African and Diaspora leaders who are dedicated to the mission of bridging the gap between Africa and our African family in the Diaspora.

  • ENana Akufo Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo – President of the Republic of Ghana
  • E.Mia Mottley – Prime Minister of Barbados
  • Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma – Minister for the Presidency of Women, Youth, and People with Disabilities, South Africa
  • E.Prof. Benedict Oramah – President and Chairman of the Board of Directors, AFREXIMBANK
  • E.Wamkele Mene – Secretary General, African Continental Free Trade Area
  • John B. Sampson – Member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s (SCCM) Africa Infrastructure Relief and Support (AIRS project), Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
  • E.Dr. Bamanga Tukur – Grand Patron and President Emeritus, African Business Roundtable
