Bechem United FC and Diaspora Africa Forum in collaboration with Miracle Africa International Foundation organized the Maiden Annual Football Tournament dubbed Education through Sport in Accra Ghana, hosting prominent football teams from Mali, Togo, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, some of the Ghanaian Premier League Clubs, Second Division Clubs and under 18 Teams from various soccer academies in Ghana. Some of the Scouts from various countries such as, Belgium,Norway, France and UK also participated in the Tournament.
The maiden edition of the Tournament took place at the new Adjiringanor Astro Turf, East Legon from 10th October, 2021 to 12th October, 2021 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm each day.
The aim of the tournament was to showcase and promote some of the best and finest talents in Ghana and West Africa with regards to sports.
In an effort to make an impact in society and provide some level of educational system for our young sportsmen, the Education through Sports initiative was officially launched during the Tournament’s dinner and awards Gala at the La palm Royal Beach Hotel on Monday, 11th October, 2021.
This initiative, among others, seeks to empower and equip young and talented players with the requisite skills and knowledge to make them competitive on the world stage.
Four outstanding football players who received Education through Sports scholarships were Charles Mensah, Hafiz Wontah Konkoni, Clinton Duodu and Jesse Arthur Sam. The scholarships were donated to these four players by Delta United Group through Miracle Africa International Foundation.
